Most programs on diet and nutrition tell you a lot about what you shouldn’t eat and some about what you should eat.  Many require you to make drastic changes in your current eating habits and lifestyle.  Some promote practices that are a bit strange or even downright dangerous.  Most of all, they promise a quick fix, especially when it comes to weight loss.  But the reason so many new diets and nutrition programs don’t work is that “quick” won’t work over time.

With Culinary Crossroads approach, you will be able to eat every food that you like. WE believe that all foods can be part of a healthy diet. You will be able to tailor our recommendations to the specific areas in which you need to improve.  You’ll make gradual changes that over time add up to significant improvements in your nutrient intake and your health.  Basically, we will help you put good health in every bite.

In addition to helping you choose a balanced diet, we will help you build and use the lifestyle skills that are necessary to make habit changes permanent.  Because healthy eating can lead to many benefits, including a longer life and more energy and less chance of serious disease, we know that you will want to stick with us through all 10 sessions.

Keep in mind that change takes time.  Some sessions focus on skills that will help change your habits. These skills apply to changing almost any habit.  Other sessions focus on nutrition skills, such as how to eat out, shop and cook in healthy ways.  In the beginning, we will help you identify exactly what a healthy diet looks like, what’s getting in the way of you eating in a healthy manner and how to set goals that will lead to lifelong changes.  Then we will go over specific nutrition and behavior change topics such as eating out, confronting eating triggers, getting support, and preventing relapses.

- Wake Up Call

Filling breakfast burritos, nutritious protein pancakes, made to order breakfast sandwiches.  Proper portion and combination of carbohydrates, protein and fat.
